The Sub-forum of the School of Electrical Engineering at the 4th International Young Scholars "Zhixing" Forum of Beijing Jiaotong University Successfully Held

 On the afternoon of February 22, the Sub-forum of the School of Electrical Engineering at the 4th International Young Scholars "Zhixing" Forum of Beijing Jiaotong University was successfully held online. Nine international young scholars from renowned universities worldwide, including Chalmers University of Technology, Tsinghua University, University of New South Wales, University of Macau, Michigan State University, and Imperial College London, attended the sub-forum and delivered academic reports. Professor He Jinghan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering, Professor Wu Mingli, Dean of the School, heads of various departments and institutes, as well as representatives of some teachers and graduate students, participated in the forum. The event was hosted by Professor Wang Chenchen, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering.


Secretary He Jinghan delivered a welcome speech, extending a warm welcome to all young scholars attending the forum. She pointed out that 2023 marks the first year of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and talent is the key to entering a new stage of development. The School of Electrical Engineering attaches great importance to the construction of young talent teams, and has always closely linked the personal growth of young teachers with the development and construction of the school. The purpose of holding the Young Scholars Forum is to attract and gather a group of outstanding young scholars at home and abroad for mutual exchange and enhanced understanding. She hoped that the successful holding of this forum would enable more young scholars to understand and pay attention to the School of Electrical Engineering, and sincerely expected and welcomed outstanding young talents to join the school, contributing their efforts to the school's service in national strategies and major industrial needs in the fields of rail transit and power energy.

Dean Wu Mingli introduced the basic situation of the school to the participating scholars from aspects such as school overview, talent training, scientific research, and exchanges and cooperation. He also detailed the faculty supplement, talent introduction plans, as well as the application conditions and support policies for recent overseas talent introduction special programs. He encouraged young scholars to deeply understand the talent support and training system of the university and the school, as well as the high-quality resources and platforms of the school, and sincerely hoped that outstanding young scholars would join the School of Electrical Engineering to grow and seek development together with the school.

Subsequently, the nine young scholars respectively introduced their academic and work experiences, and shared their scientific research achievements. The report content covered many fields such as motor design and control, integrated energy systems, energy storage systems, and electromagnetic detection and evaluation. The young scholars had enthusiastic exchanges and discussions with the participating teachers and students.
The successful holding of this sub-forum promoted academic exchanges between teachers, students and scholars at home and abroad, built a platform for outstanding young scholars at home and abroad to fully communicate and understand the School of Electrical Engineering, demonstrated the school's working atmosphere of respecting talents and advocating academics, and laid a foundation for deeper cooperation between both parties.
