On the afternoon of November 13, 2023, Zhao Peng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University, met with the visiting delegation led by Hitoshi Tsunashima, Director of the Railway Technology Research Center at Nihon University (Japan), in Siyuan Building.
Zhao Peng extended a warm welcome to Tsunashima and his delegation. He introduced the university’s historical evolution, advantageous disciplines, college settings, internationalization progress, and its participation in national rail transit construction in recent years. Zhao Peng stated that the two parties share many common interests in the rail transit field. He hoped that this visit would explore cooperation possibilities, leading to joint efforts in scientific research, faculty exchanges, and co-hosting summer camps, so as to contribute to the development of the railway industry in both countries.
Tsunashima thanked Beijing Jiaotong University for the warm reception and introduced Nihon University’s talent training, disciplinary characteristics, and the development of the Railway Technology Research Center. He expressed hope that the two universities would gradually expand cooperation areas and upgrade cooperation levels through joint scientific research, building a bridge for enhanced exchanges and learning for the development of railways in both universities and even China and Japan.
After the meeting, Tsunashima and his delegation went to the School of Electrical Engineering for in-depth exchanges and discussions.
