On September 21, the School of Electrical Engineering successfully held the 2024 Alumni Anniversary Homecoming Event. Nearly 200 alumni from the 1984, 1994, 2004, and 2014 cohorts returned to their alma mater to recall youthful memories and renew friendship with former classmates.

In the early morning of the 21st, school leaders and student volunteers welcomed returning alumni from all over the country at the West Playground of the main campus. They exchanged cordially with the alumni and attended the university-wide anniversary homecoming conference together.

At 10:40 AM, the School of Electrical Engineering’s alumni tea party was held at the Rain Garden west of the Electrical Engineering Building. Returning alumni, school leaders, and representatives of teachers and students attended the event. The tea party was co-hosted by Liu Biao, a teacher representative of the school, and Zhang Chushun, an alumni representative of the 2014 cohort.

Wang Deyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, delivered a welcome speech. He extended a warm welcome to the alumni returning to the school and thanked them for their long-term care and support for the school’s development. He emphasized that the school is the eternal spiritual home of every alumnus, and its doors are always open for their return regardless of where they are or what achievements they have made.

Wu Mingli, Dean of the school, introduced the school’s development to the alumni. He covered aspects such as the basic overview, faculty team, talent training, scientific research, social services, and alumni status. He noted that every step of the school’s development is inseparable from the care and support of alumni, and sincerely hoped that alumni would continue to pay attention to the school, offer suggestions for its development, and wished every alumnus a more brilliant life journey.

Teacher representatives Ye Bin, Hu Xiaogang, and Xiu Sanmu shared memories of campus life with the alumni, expressed sincere care and blessings, and encouraged alumni to keep striving for a better future.

The warm atmosphere evoked the alumni’s fond memories of the alma mater and the school. Attendees shared their feelings and blessings for the school, teachers, and classmates in various forms. Li Xiantang, an alumnus of the 1994 cohort, recited his impromptu poem "Brother, I’m Back"; Fu Ning and Guo Yan, also from the 1994 cohort, sang the song "Looking Back Again"; Wang Dawei, another 1994 alumnus, recalled the beautiful campus days with teachers and classmates and shared his struggle experience. The sincere sharing between teachers and students pushed the on-site atmosphere to a climax.

Accompanied by the singing of current students, alumni recalled interesting stories of their school days, shared changes in work and life, exchanged growth insights, and made an appointment to meet again in the next ten years.

The School of Electrical Engineering has always attached great importance to alumni work, actively cooperated with and supported alumni’s various needs, and strived to provide comprehensive services. The carefully prepared anniversary homecoming series activities made returning alumni feel the school’s care and received unanimous praise from all attendees.
