The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to attend the "Academician Campus Visit" activity. Professor Zhong Zhiyong is the President-Elect of IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FCAE). He delivered a report titled "Smart Grid Technological Innovation: New Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twins" to teachers and students of Beijing Jiaotong University in the Academic Lecture Hall on the 7th floor of Siyuan West Building.
In his report, Academician Zhong Zhiyong focused on the applications of artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies in power system load forecasting, renewable energy generation forecasting, system state estimation, stability analysis, and other directions. He pointed out the opportunities and challenges faced by artificial intelligence and digital twins in smart grid technological innovation, and looked forward to the future prospects and development trends of these two technologies. The report was hosted by Xu Yin, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department. More than 50 teachers and students from the School of Electrical Engineering attended the report, and had enthusiastic interactions and exchanges with Academician Zhong Zhiyong.

Before the report, Wu Mingli, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering; Wang Xiaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Dean; Niu Liyong, Vice Dean; and Xu Yin, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department, met with Academician Zhong Zhiyong. Both parties discussed and exchanged views on discipline development, faculty team building, talent training, and other issues. After the report, accompanied by Xu Yin, Academician Zhong Zhiyong visited laboratories including the Beijing Engineering Research Center of Rail Transit Electrical Engineering, the Engineering Research Center of Power Traction under the Ministry of Education, and the Comprehensive Experimental Center of Electrical Engineering.
