School of Electrical Engineering Conducts Research and Exchange at the Xiong'an Campus

date: 2025-06-09

To thoroughly understand the university's "one university, multiple campuses" construction layout and align with the development needs of the new campus, on June 5, 2025, Wang Deyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering, and Wu Mingli, Dean of the School, led a delegation of over 30 members—including the school leadership team, department heads, and teacher representatives—to Xiong'an New Area for research and exchange.

The delegation first visited the construction site of the first bid section of the first group of buildings at the Xiong'an Campus, gaining an on-site understanding of the overall campus construction and project progress. Subsequently, a research forum was held in Conference Room 101 of Qicheng Building. Attendees included Xin Xin, Assistant to the University President and Commander of the Xiong'an Campus Construction Headquarters; Lian Huiren, Secretary of the General Party Branch and Deputy Commander of the Headquarters; Shen Yan and Zhong Xiaokai, Deputy Directors of the Xiong'an Campus Construction Office; and Yang Liyang, Assistant Director.

Xin Xin extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the Xiong'an Campus Construction Headquarters. He stated that the Xiong'an Campus is a key layout for the university to implement national strategies and achieve "development in the next century." He hoped the School of Electrical Engineering would give full play to its disciplinary advantages, build a highland for scientific research, and continue exploring in industry-university collaborative innovation and targeted talent training. Lian Huiren provided a detailed introduction to the overall planning, strategic layout, organizational structure, and construction progress of the Xiong'an Campus. Wu Mingli expressed that the school aims to seize the opportunities brought by the Xiong'an Campus for new development, is willing to support the campus construction with its disciplinary characteristics, and contribute electrical engineering strength to the university's development.

Led by Wang Deyu, a subgroup visited State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. Xiong'an New Area Power Supply Company. The delegation first toured the Xiong'an New Area Power Dispatching and Control Center, Jucun "1+5+X" Urban Smart Energy Integration Station, and the "Double Petal" High-Reliability Power Supply Demonstration Project for the distribution network of the Xiong'an Business Service Center. Afterwards, they conducted scientific research docking activities with the Science and Technology Department of State Grid Hebei Electric Power Company. Both parties conducted in-depth and detailed exchanges and discussions on the scientific research needs of the Hebei power grid and the technological innovation achievements of the School of Electrical Engineering in power science and technology, and expressed expectations for closer scientific research cooperation after the completion and occupancy of the university's Xiong'an Campus. Technical personnel from departments such as the Economic Research Institute, Electric Power Research Institute, Xiong'an Company, Cangzhou Company, and Handan Company of State Grid Hebei Power Grid also participated in the exchange.

Wu Mingli led another subgroup to Hebei Communications Investment Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. to investigate the application of new technologies such as new energy, robots, artificial intelligence, and big data in the expressway field. Both parties held discussions around the integration of transportation and energy, and conducted in-depth exchanges on talent training, scientific research cooperation, and joint application for Hebei provincial-level scientific research platforms.

This research covered the entire chain of campus planning, technological R&D, and industrial collaboration. Participating teachers stated that the intelligent power grid structure and transportation-energy integration scenarios in Xiong'an New Area provide fertile ground for scientific research innovation. In the future, the School of Electrical Engineering will continue to leverage its disciplinary advantages, empower the construction of Xiong'an as a "future city" through technological innovation, and write a new chapter of universities serving national strategies.
