On May 17, Kaushik Rajashekara—Member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE), Foreign Member of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering—and Kouki Matsuse—Member of the Engineering Academy of Japan and Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (USA)—visited Beijing Jiaotong University for exchanges and delivered "Face-to-Face with Masters" academic lectures respectively.

Before the lecture session, Guan Zhongliang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University, met with Academicians Kaushik Rajashekara and Kouki Matsuse. The two parties exchanged views on discipline construction, academic exchanges, and cooperation.

At the lecture session, Academician Kaushik Rajashekara gave a report titled "Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Systems for Transportation".

Academician Kouki Matsuse delivered a lecture themed "High-Power and High-Speed Motor Drives", comprehensively introducing relevant knowledge of high-power and high-speed motor drives to teachers and students present.
Associate Professor Li Kai from the School of Electrical Engineering hosted the lecture session. Relevant leaders from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Graduate Work Department, and School of Electrical Engineering, responsible comrades of the event, and nearly 200 teachers and students from the university participated in the lectures.
Kaushik Rajashekara is a Member of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE), Foreign Member of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, IEEE Fellow, SAE Fellow, NAI Fellow, and Distinguished Professor at the University of Houston, USA.
He has received numerous awards, including the 2021 IEEE Environmental and Safety Technologies Award and the 2013 IEEE Richard Harold Kaufman Award. He was honored with the 2022 Global Energy Prize for his outstanding contributions to transportation electrification and energy efficiency technologies while reducing power generation emissions, with remarkable achievements in the field of power conversion systems for transportation.
Kouki Matsuse is a Member of the Engineering Academy of Japan, Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (USA), and Eiichi Sakurai Fellow. He is an Emeritus Professor at Meiji University and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University.
He has won many awards such as the 2000 IEEE Industry Applications Society Outstanding Achievement Award, IEEE Richard H. Kaufman Technical Field Award, and IEEJ Distinguished Contribution Award. He has made unique and important contributions to advancing the development of multi-level converters, sensorless control of AC motor drives, and high-power and ultra-high-speed drives for induction and synchronous motors.
