On September 9th, 2021, The 5th Symposium on The Future of Renewable Energy was successful held by the School of Electrical Engineering and School of Renewable Energy in BJTU Campus.
As a series of lectures to welcome the 125th anniversary of BJTU, this symposium adopted the combination of online and offline, and took "new power system with renewable energy as the main body" under the dual carbon background as the theme to carry out in-depth academic exchange and discussion around new energy and new materials. He Jinghan, Secretary of the Party committee of the School of Electrical Engineering, and Anjan Bose, Honorary Dean of the Schhol of Renewable Energy and foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered the opening speech.
The symposium invited many experts in renewable energy fields, including: Professor Santiago Grijalva of Georgia Institute of technology, Professor Venkataramanna Ajjarapu of Iowa State University, Professor Kory Hedman of Arizona State University, Mr. Huang Han, Vice President of global energy Internet development cooperation organization, Professor Lu Zongxiang and Lin Jin of Tsinghua University, President Li Meicheng and Professor Liu Yongqian of new energy School of North China Electric Power University, Prof. Xiaohong Li of University of Exeter in the UK, Prof. Xiongfei Wang of the University of aubergh in Denmark, and Prof. Xu Yin of Beijing Jiaotong University. The symposium is divided into two stages, chaired by Pei Zhang, vice president of School of Renewable Energy, and Zhang Caiping, Professor of School of electrical engineering. The symposium fully demonstrated the cutting-edge academic achievements of the new energy industry, shared the research direction and development trend of the new energy industry, and jointly discussed the future development plan of the field of new energy and new materials. The unique research perspective, cutting-edge research methods and referential research conclusions of the guests triggered positive reactions and heated discussions between the guests and teachers and students. The on-site and online atmosphere of the meeting was active and achieved good academic exchange results.
More than 100 teachers and experts from domestic universities, power energy and other related industries, as well as some teachers, graduate students and undergraduate representatives of the school of Electrical Engineering and the participated in the seminar online and offline.
The International Symposium on renewable energy was held in 2016 and has been successfully held for 5 sessions so far. The conference is not only an academic event to build bridges and promote innovation, but also broaden the vision and ideas of teachers and students' academic research, and provide a good opportunity and positive promotion for the development of electrical and new energy related disciplines in the college.
