School of Renewable Energy successfully held its 6th International Advisory Board Meeting on September 9th, 2021.Prof. Anjan Bose, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Honorary Dean of School of Renewable Enegy and Prof. Pei Zhang, Vice Dean of School of Renewable Energy co chaired the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Xia Mingchao, director of BJTU's Office of International Affairs, fully affirmed the important role of the experts of the Advisory Committee in promoting the development of School of Renewable Energy, and extended a warm welcome to the experts attending the meeting.
Sangchul won, vicedean of School of Renewable Energy, reported on the current development status of the school and sought the opinions of the participating experts on the difficulties faced by the school in undergraduate education, overseas teacher recruitment, graduate enrollment and employment, student international exchange programs, etc.
Philip Krein, academician of the American Academy of Engineering and executive dean of the Joint College of the University of Illinois at champagne campus of Zhejiang University, and Liu Yongqian, Professor of the school of Reneable Energy of North China Electric Power University, shared the international education construction mode and discipline development of the two colleges respectively.
Focusing on the development status and development direction of School of Renewable Energy , Stanimir Valtchev, IEEE Senior Member and President of IEEE-PEMC 2016 conference, Seung Jae Lee, IEEE fellow and Professor of Meiji University in Korea, Dan MICU, Professor of kruge napoka University of technology in Romania, and Jaedo Park, Professor of Colorado State University in the United States, warmly discussed in terms of the school running concept and teaching mode of international education. Relevant discussions were made in the fields of scientific research cooperation, joint training, talent recruitment, international influence and so on. Experts and scholars spoke freely and offered suggestions at the meeting. The results of the meeting are of great significance to the school to improve the undergraduate training system, deepen the internationalization of education and teaching, and enhance international exchanges and cooperation.
Finally, Prof. Jinghan He, the Secretary of the Party committee of the School of Electrical Engineering made a concluding speech. She pointed out that the Advisory Committee should actively give advice and suggestions, and work together to boost the development of School of Renewable Energy under the dual carbon background.
