Experimental Teaching Method
(1)Introducing CDIO teaching mode and advocating "learning by doing"
The center gradually introduces the CDIO engineering teaching mode, takes the ability cultivation as the goal during the electrical experimental teaching process. The center also guides students to solve complex electrical engineering problems, accumulate design and implementation experience. Meanwhile, we add professional ethics, integrity and team work concepts education into the electrical experiment teaching, so as to cultivate students' ability to put forward and solve problems.
(2)Promoting the integration of science and education, taking research results into experiments
Teachers are encouraged to transform high-level scientific research achievements into research-based experimental teaching projects. Scientific research platforms are open to undergraduates, so that undergraduates can get in touch with the frontiers of disciplines and be familiar with the development direction of disciplines
Experimental apparatus and equipment
The instruments and equipment in the experimental center can fully guarantee the basic experimental teaching needs and enables new experimental courses such as virtual simulation to be set up. In the past five years, Beijing Jiaotong University has invested more than 18 million yuan in infrastructure construction, and the self-raised and donated funds have also exceeded 10 million yuan. The teaching environment of the experimental center has been greatly improved.
Results and Presentation
(1) Realizing the student-oriented individualized training mode
Providing abundant conditions for students to practice innovation and entrepreneurship, it aims at cultivating students' ability and stimulates their interest in scientific research and exploration. Each student is assigned a mentor, and the process of innovation and entrepreneurship practice is emphasized, as well as the cultivation of independent learning skills, innovation skills and career consciousness.
(2)Promoting the construction of platform for innovation and business start-ups through advanced concepts and management methods
By implementing the innovative and entrepreneurial talents training concept of "emphasizing characteristics, practice and collaborative innovation", and strengthening the construction of the platform for innovation and business start-ups, it has meet the needs of students to carry out innovation activities in terms of management, site, equipment, capital and teachers, and provided good conditions for students to practice innovation and entrepreneurship activities.
(3)Organizing and undertaking discipline competitions to promote the exchange of innovative talents
Organize students to actively participate in discipline competitions, and actively undertake National College Students Industrial Automation Challenge, Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction in our university. Promote students to learn from each other through communication and competition on the discipline competition platform.
(4)Expanding collaborative resource-based innovation
Through co-building laboratories with TI, Microchip, ETAP and Rockwell, the center has applied the latest technological equipment to practical teaching, so as to create an innovative and entrepreneurial environment and provide guidance of enterprises for students. By holding innovative and entrepreneurial training programs and discipline competitions, it has guided students to participate in scientific and technological activities and cultivated students' innovative and entrepreneurial skills.
After years of efforts and exploration, Center of Electrical Engineering Laboratories has been built into a professional experiment center, specialized in rail transit and new energy, achieving the integration of science and education, supported by the university and the enterprise.
